We know you want to play in the snow. So do we! But please do it close to home. The rising and dropping temperatures will begin to turn our fluffy snow into ice, making for extremely dangerous driving conditions! Is has even been difficult for emergency vehicles to get to where they need to go. They are responding to only life- threatening emergencies. Please help them by staying off the roads! We assure you that we are working diligently to clear the roads to make it safe for everyone!

The City of Gretna Water Department needs your assistance in conserving your household water usage! To help maintain normal operation, please keep water usage to a minimum during this emergency event. Our aging water infrastructure is not accustomed to these freezing conditions, making our water lines more prone to leaks. The more water usage, the higher our system’s chance of dropping pressure. It is critical to only use water when necessary. Please call the Gretna Water Department for leaks or shut offs 504-363-1540.

All City emergency services will continue throughout this freeze event. To report City-related emergencies, call 504-363-1500. For all other emergencies, dial 911. You may also visit www.gretnala.com or facebook.com/CityOfGretna for additional information and regular updates.
