Updated COVID-19 Recommendations
November 25, 2020
According to Governor John Bel Edwards yesterday, Nov. 24, 2020, Louisiana has moved back to a modified Phase 2 status. Under these guidelines, gatherings will be limited to 75 persons indoors and 150 persons outdoors, or a max of 25% occupancy at event spaces.
Restaurants, retailers, and other businesses will move from 75% occupancy to 50% occupancy.
Bars in parishes with over 5% test positivity must close indoor consumption unless they have a restaurant conditional permit, in which case they can operate at 50% occupancy. Bars not serving food must close for indoor consumption, but can allow outdoor seating for up to 50 people, seated and spaced apart and masks mandated.
Gyms, fitness centers, restaurants, coffee shops, cafes, and non-essential retail businesses must adhere to a capacity of 50% with social distancing and mask mandates.
These restrictions are in place through the end of the year.
Thanksgiving
Please keep Thanksgiving gatherings small with no more than 10 people. Practice social distancing and have a single person designated to serve the food. For more information on keeping your family safe, please see these recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Christmas
We will also once again promote the “Passport to Christmas” supporting local Gretna merchants. Pick up a passport at participating businesses (they will feature large red bows), then visit at least 12 merchants to receive a stamp for your passport. Once completed, turn in your passport for a chance to win some great prizes, including a grand prize basket valued at least $1000.00 featuring beautiful jewelry from Rihner’s Jewelers.
