Office of the City Clerk
The City Clerk Office is the officially designated record keeping agency for the City and the custodian of public records, both current and archived. Public records are accessible from June 1913 to present day, including:
- Minutes of City Council Meetings (1913)
- Resolutions beginning in 1956
- Ordinances beginning in 1959
- Contracts, Agreements, and some Lawsuits
The Council meets every second Wednesday of the month, at Gretna City Hall, 740 2nd Street, 2nd floor Council Chambers, Gretna, LA 70053. All meetings are open to the public.
The City Clerk prepares the agenda for meetings and attends and records the meeting minutes of the Mayor and City Council and other public meetings. After each meeting of the Mayor and City Council, the City Clerk is charged with publishing necessary documents according to state law.
